Psalms 11

Today was Psalms day in my daily Bible reading!!! There was one in particular that stuck out at me. It goes like this:

"In the LORD I take refuge.
How then can you say to me:
'Flee like a bird to your mountain.
For look, the wicked bend their bows;
they set their arrows against the strings
to shoot from the shadows
at the upright in heart.
When the foundations are being destroyed,
what can the righteous do?' "

This visual picture that came to mind for this part is in FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING when they were in Moria and everything was crumbling down, and those orcs were shooting arrows at them from the darkness. Anyway... let's continue:P

"The LORD is in his holy temple;
the LORD is on his heavenly throne.
He observes the sons of men;
his eyes examine them.
The LORD examines the righteous,
but the wicked and those who love violence
his soul hates.
On the wicked he will rain
fiery coals and burning sulfur;
a scorching wind will be their lot.
For the LORD is righteous,
he loves justice;
upright men will see his face."

That part sounds very protective. It's like, if you feel like Frodo in Moria and the bad guys are shooting at you (whoever they are, and however they might be shooting at you) you know that God loves justice and he will defend you! He will rain fiery coals on your enemies!!!

It's NOT LORD of the Rings honey It's "lord of the rings"...You'll have to do better with your visuals. Is there something in LOTR that relates to the protection? Where they felt safe despite the numbers that were against him? Do you recall the comfort that Gandalf spoke to Pippin while waiting in Gondor? end? This is not the end...

I said FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING in caps because it's a title. And I just used that Moria part because it's a good picture of the foundations crumbling and bad guys shooting from the shadows. I really didn't think any further LORT beyond that.
